Merry Christmas

Just wanted to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and hope you get everything you wish for and more. May you enjoy your time with family and friends and let's not forget the real meaning of Christmas. Our Lord and Savior came to this earth as a baby to die for all our sins. We couldn't ask for a better present than that.

I am looking forward to seeing lots of pictures posted after Christmas so we can all enjoy.I am when I remember how...haha!!

Just random....

I can't believe I haven't posted anything in almost a week. Either I have been really busy or just haven't had anything to write about. Maybe a combination of the two. Anyway just wanted to let you all know that I have bought my very first Christmas present and I am so excited...I took the advice of some dear friends who are experts at this sort of thing and shopped on line. It went very well I might add. It will arrive this week and only thing I have to worry about now is who will be home to get the package when it arrives? Little detail will figure out later...
One down and about 50 more to go. Boy I'm on a roll now.

I guess that's all for now.

Hope each one has a great day and maybe next time I post something it won't be so boring....

Merry Christmas!!!

Shopping and Stress go hand in hand....

I just keep amazing myself year after year. How often do I say "I am NOT waiting until the last minute to do Christmas shopping and what do I do.....? Wait til the last minute to do my shopping. Here we are the first of Dec. and I have bought ZERO!!! presents. Nata....none...zip o....how ever many different ways you can say it....it still comes down to none. I really stress about this to and I say I'm not doing this next year and by george I do it. Am I alone in this or is there anyone else that does this? Just curious.....

I know we still have several shopping days til Christmas but I have something to do about every weekend from now until then. And forget about taking any time off of work...no way....not this time of year. All the crazies come out of the wood work and no one can seem to help them but Lil ole me....Go figure! So stressing??... yep already. What to buy and when am I going to have time to go buy it? I think what I may do this year is just shop on line and ship it to me at home and then I won't have to fight the long lines, crazy people and the traffic plus I can shop from the comfort of my own home...WOW...Seems like a plan. I think Santa may do this very thing he just doesn't tell anybody....!!!:)

But don't get me wrong, I do love going to the mall and seeing all the people rushing around trying to find that perfect gift, which by the way really doesn't exsist... Nine times out of ten the gifts will get returned for something else or just returned for the money... So call me crazy I know...I can't decide on anything. Well I guess it's a good thing I have a little time to decide. Hey, maybe I'll do both...hehe!

Happy Shopping to you all!!!!! May your shopping be less stressful than mine!!!

Pre-Thanksgiving Blessings

I know that tomorrow is Thanksgiving but I figured everyone is going to be busy cooking and getting ready for the family thing so I wanted to post this today. I just wanted to tell you of a few things I am thankful for this year.

First off I am thankful I am saved. That Jesus died on the cross for me. Even though I didn't deserve it he did it because he loves me WOW...what a thought.

Next is my family. Two wonderful parents who showed me the most love a child could ask for. This past year we have had some trying times but by the grace of God my mother is much better and my sister is getting along very well.

My wonderful husband and children. The Lord truly blessed me with a wonderful man who loves the Lord and is my best friend. My children, well what can I say about them only that I know they are a gift from God and I am so thankful that he choose me to be there mother.

My Church and Church Family. It is a wonderful feeling to know that so many people at our church care about you. When your not there you are missed and they let you know it. A pastor who really cares about his church and always does what is best for the them. The Lord has truly blessed us there and I hope the work we do there in the name of the Lord continues on this new year coming up.

My wonderful Friends. They say you can tell how a person is by the number of friends they have. Well, I don't know about all that but I do know that I have been blessed with an abundance of friends. Some I have had for all my life and some just have come in life this past year. But each one has brought something extra special in life and for that I am blessed.

Well, I could go on and on but I know your probably tired of all the reading by now so I will close with this one last thought...

"I've got so much to Thank Him for"

We Survived the Dentist

Well, Julie survived her dentist appointment today. She got two little baby teeth pulled and one little filling and she actually lived through it. I know it's not suppose to be that bad but she is petrified of the dentist and really who isn't?? If your honest with yourself the dentist is not any one's favorite person. At least not mine or Julie's.
She was so funny this morning. She was waiting with me here at work until her appointment and when I got back to work (after it was all done and over with and she was at home trying to eat....)I found a little sticky note she left on my desk that said "OMG...I'm going to die. If I do, I love you all!!! signed Julie Renee. I'm sorry but that was so funny because when she came out from the back (at the dentist office) she was like...hey I wasn't scared...it wasn't that bad. I didn't feel a thing. WOW...The only thing she was concerned about was her face being numb and she couldn't feel her nose...Go figure...Then she was going to try to drink some drink and it was running down her face and she didn't even feel it...So funny..I should have taken a picture of her and shared with you.
Anyway first round is over and she is good until Dec. for a small filling and a cleaning. WHEW!!! Glad that's over

What Does Your Favorite Candy Say About You?

What Your Love of Peanut Butter Cups Says About You

You are hedonistic... sometimes to the point of being greedy.

You love to eat, and there's no chance you're sharing your candy!

While you may be greedy, it's with good reason. You have great taste.

The things you love are worth loving, and it's no wonder you crave them.

WOW!!! I just can't get away from this greedy thing. I thought long and hard before I answered and said to myself which one would NOT be greedy because the last test I took (the sock test) said I was greedy and by george I did it again. I'm just going to stop doing these....hehe!!!

Girls In My Circle

One of my good friends sent this to me so I thought I would share with you all and say Thank you for being one of those wonderful women that the Lord has allowed in my life! You have made a difference!

GIRLS IN MY CIRCLE:

When I was little,
I used to believe in the concept of one best friend,
And then I started to become a woman.
And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up,
God would show you the best in many friends.

One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man.
Another friend is needed when you're going through things with your mom.
Another will sit beside you in the bleachers as you delight in your children and their activities.
Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be.
One friend will say, 'Let's cry together,'
Another , 'Let's fight together,'
Another , 'Let's walk away together.'

One friend will meet your spiritual need,
Another your shoe fetish,
Another your love for movies,
Another will be with you in your season of confusion,
Another will be your clarifier,
Another the wind beneath your wings.

But whatever their assignment in your life,
On whatever the occasion,
On whatever the day,
Or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym shoes on and hair pulled back,
Or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself ..
Those are your best friends.

It may all be wrapped up in one woman, But for many, it's wrapped up in several..
One from 7th grade,
One from high school,
Several from the college years,
a couple from old jobs,
On some days your mother,
On some days your neighbor,
On others, your sisters,
And on some days, your daughters.

So whether they've been your friend for 20 minutes or 20 years,
AND ONLY IF YOU'D LIKE TO,
Pass this on to the women that God has placed in your life
To make a difference.

Monday Blues.....

OK, not my usual Monday blues post just because it's Monday and I am back at work and wish I was at home doing nothing.....this one is a little different.

My girl turned "20" yesterday and I was kinda sad. It's really hard for me to realize she's an adult. We were taking a trip down memory lane yesterday (as I always do on there birthday's) and remembering all the crazy things that happened on the day she was born. I'm such a sentimental sap it's not funny! But they really enjoy hearing those kinda things because duh.....they can't remember stuff like that he he!
Anyway, she had a really good day I think. Lunch with the family and then a small get together last night after church. And by the way.....thanks to all my church family for making last night special for her too! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!! I will post pictures later (when I figure out how...he he) of her day as well as you get to read another post tomorrow or Wed. about my baby girl's birthday on Tues...Yep how in the world that happened that both my girls birthday's are in October and only 2 days apart. WHEW!!!!busy month for us!...

Hope everyone has a great MONDAY and week....

Will post more later on about the birthday's...I know you can't wait!!!

Good News

Hello everyone..Just wanted to give you an update on my sister. We got to bring her home today (Sat.). After a long week and a lot of suffering on her part the doctor gave the OK to bring her home. She is at home and resting comfortably. This has been the most stressful week. Traveling back and forth to Winston-Salem is so long. But you know what I would travel to end of the earth for her if need be.
Thanks for all the prayers and positive thoughts. I know she felt them as well as the rest of us. She still has a long road ahead of her with the recovery but I know she's a strong person and will be back to her normal self in no time.

More later...Have a good weekend.

This Week

Just so you know I will not be on that much any more the rest of the week so nothing good better happen while I'm on my hiatus! My sister will be having surgery tomorrow (Tues) and I will be spending all my time in Winston-Salem at Baptist Hospital. Everyone, Please say a special prayer for her. This is something she knew was coming and was ready for it but now that the time has come she is really anxious and rightfully so. I know some of you have sisters or you have someone who is as close to you as a sister, but for me my sister is my "best friend". We are very close and I just don't know what I would do with out her. So please keep her in your thoughts and prayers because I know The Lord has everything in control.
So this will be it for me until the end of the week or there bouts but then again sometimes I don't post anything in a week or so.....at least my next post will be about good news following surgery and recovery.
Hope everyone has a blessed week and will post again soon!!!

"The Call"

Well, I got the call that mother's hate to get.....Ms. Templeton this is .....at Reidsville High, your daughter Julie has been hurt and we need you to come to the school as soon as you can. Well, Can you guess how fast I got there? Yep pretty darn fast!!!
She was of course playing volleyball and landed wrong her ankle. The girls all said they heard it "POP" and she went down. By the time I got there they had an ice pack on her ankle but it was as big as a soft ball almost. I just knew it was broken. All the girls were standing around her and she was just crying....Not sure if it was a pain cry or I can't play volleyball cry, but anyway
Here we go to the ER to get it x-rayed and believe it or not we were only at the hospital for about an hour. Yep that's right an hour in the ER at Annie Penn. That has got to be a record.
Results came back no broken bones that they could see but it was swollen so it could be a hair-line fracture and they just can't see it yet. No volleyball for her for at least a week and she is in an air cast and on crutches......and mama is finally breathing a sigh of relief.
I know some of you know what I'm talking about!. I had the worst thoughts driving to the school yesterday. She's broken her leg, she's hit her head and is unconscious......you know how it is. So when it's just an ankle it was a relief knowing it could have been so much worse. So she's not playing right now but still will go and support her team and maybe just maybe will get to play next week but she will have to wear a ankle support to keep it from being hurt again. The next time (hopefully there won't be one but you never know) we may not be so lucky.

It's Friday!!!!

Well It's Friday and all is well. I know my last post was about Monday and so depressing so now I've decided to write about Friday and nothing but good stuff...

To start with Julie had a game yesterday in Greensboro and though they tried really hard they still could not pull off there first win. However they did play a great 2nd game and only lost by 5 points which I might say is a GREAT improvement because they usually loose by at least 15 or more. After all, this is there first year and all the girls are new and have no clue how to play volleyball. Julie has only played with our church when we played and really now....were no good either so the concept of actually playing in a game is all new to her and everyone else. The most important thing I tell her is to have fun. If you don't win a game this season at least have fun and enjoy your time with friends. That is one thing I really like about her coach. She doesn't promote winning (which would be a good thing) but she wants them to focus on teamwork and having a good time. Her daddy and I try to go to her games whether they are home or away because we want her to know we support her in every way! WIN OR LOSE!

Tonight is the big rival game in Wentworth...Rockingham VS Reidsville. OK now I know I'm a little partial when it comes to Reidsville Rams....State Champs...but I really hope it's a good game. We most of the time just blow away the competition but we could have an off night and they could possibly have an on night and we could walk away with our first loss since sometime in 06 I believe....and just because we have some friends kids that go there and some that went there just makes it all the more SWEEEEETTTTTT when we win...hehehehe!!!

Now you know why we look forward to Friday's. We just love going to football games and now that we have a girl playing volleyball we go to those games as well. Support your school as well as your kids!!!!!

HAPPY FRIDAY TO ALL!!!

It's Monday....AGAIN

It's Monday again and as I sit here I was just wondering does anyone else dread Monday's like I do? It just seems like the weekend goes by so fast you don't even have time to do anything and then before you know it it's Monday and were back at work, school and the normal hustle and bustle of the work week.

I guess I just have the Monday blues today so I thought I would share them with others so now everyone has them with me. I was always told to share so just doing what I was told to do.
If anyone has any advice on how to get over this I would really love to hear it. Maybe if I was a little more excited about my job it wouldn't seem so bad but having to come to work when you really don't know what's happening from one day to the next does tend to get on ones nerves occasionally.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a good week despite my depressing blog for today. Maybe tomorrow will bring a better day as well as a better conversation piece.

HAPPY MONDAY

Turning "40"

Ok so my birthday is Sat and yes I will be 40! Oh my 40 I can hardly believe it. Just doesn't seem possible. How can I be 40?

Don't get me wrong.....I am very thankful that the Lord has seen fit to give me these years, but the thing is I just don't feel like I should be 40. Does that make any sense to anyone? It's kinda hard to explain. I guess I've just always thought of my self as "the young one" after all I am the "baby" in my family so my older brother and sister are the "old" ones and I'm the baby!!!

My wonderful mother and sister gave me an OH No the BIG "40" party at church last night. It was really nice. I got a lot of nice cards and even one sympathy card (thanks Sherri and Megan), Candles (love those candles) I burn them everyday so I was in need of new ones, couple of gift cards to Pete's (our all time favorite place to hang out on Sunday nights after church), And best of all MONEY!!! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful church family and could not have asked for a better birthday party! Even a 40th one.

Most of you who will read this are still young and haven't made it out of the 20's or 30's yet so you may think I am crazy or yes old but you know what? I am turning 40. It's a coming unless the good Lord decides to call me home before Sat or he comes back and takes us all home and what a wonderful birthday that would be.....so I better get use to being in the 40's club. I have so much to be thankful for, My wonderful family and I have pretty good health (physical not mental). All in all I guess 40 won't be so bad after all.

Will let you know how my big day goes Sat. and what special plans my wonderful husband and children have planned for me....Better be good!

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend...Last holiday of the summer..Kinda sad. It's almost fall!

Till next time!

6 Things about meme

OH Yeah!!! My first tag!!!! So exciting... Here goes

6 Random things about little ol' me

1. I am the world's worse for being late where ever I go. I can get up earlier each morning but somehow I am still late. How does that happen?

2. Do not like to clean bathrooms. Of course I do it because no one else will but I HATE to clean the shower! I wish they made a self cleaning bathroom. The world would be a better place...

3. I love shoes....What girl doesn't though right? Every time I go shopping I have to have a new pair of shoes. It's to the point that my hubby is saying one more pair and it's off with your head!!

4. I could eat at El Parral everyday....I just love there food and in fact we eat there so much when we walk in by the time we are seated....they have 4 tea's on the table along with dip and chips. Aren't we special??? Not really just don't like to cook!

5. In fact that's my number 5. I really don't like to cook. If I can get out of it anyway I will. The one thing about cooking is a messy kitchen and dishes. Don't like those either. But I do cook. Even though you can't tell it by my kids (they all are skinny), I do make sure they have something to eat everynight for supper as well as breakfast...the most important meal of the day.

6. Last but not least....I'm really liking this blogging thing!!! Not sure what I am doing some of the time but it's really fun learning. I'm finding out you really are never to old to learn.

I did enjoy this as well as reading others. You can really learn a lot about people doing this...

Have fun reading all about me!

My Weekend

Ok I know you all are just dying to here about my weekend Home Alone haha! Actually Justin and I hung out Friday night and that was really cool. I don't get to do that to much with him anymore. Good mother/son time was really a big deal to me.

Then on Sat. I was going to sleep in a little but surprise Julie calls at 7AM (she missed her mommy but that was ok because I missed her to) so I talked with her a while before they started out that morning. Did my normal Sat cleaning then mama and I decided to go shopping. What better way to spend a Sat than to go shopping and actually get to look for me something and not the girls. When we usually go shopping it's all about them but this time it was all about ME!! Well almost, I had to look for my sister something too. Her birthday is Thursday so had to find her a birthday present.

I did find me something but mama said I couldn't have it until my birthday which is not until next Sat. Don't you hate that. You find something you really like and then find out you can't have it right then....But she paid so have to do what mama says....

Then surprising to me they were on there way back home and was back by 5:30 or so. I was glad. I really did miss them...Yes, even Daniel!. After hearing all the funny and not so funny stories (poor Ryan) we were off to eat.

Well, there you go...My glorious weekend home alone has come and gone. Even though it was short I enjoyed my ME time but was really glad to have my family back home all together!!!!

Till next time!!!!

Home Alone

Ok so I'm getting ready to be home alone for the weekend well kinda, Justin will be home but he's hardly ever home when he's home....

So What to do? Get a good sappy movie and my box of tissues and just cry my eyes out all by myself? I could give the house a really good cleaning and throw away stuff while nobody's home so I don't have to hear "Don't throw that a way I want to keep it". NA, that sounds like to much work. I'll wait on that one.

This is just so strange to me because I am never home alone. I always have someone home and usually it's Daniel but he's going with the church to help out on a Mission project which I'm really glad he is going to watch over the girls. I can't go because of work so they were going without either one of us going. That just doesn't happen. Ok call me over protective but I don't send my kids anywhere that I'm not there or daddy's not there. Yes, I know how old they are but there still my babies and I want to be with them where ever they go. They don't care for it to much but that's to bad!!!! A whole other story!!!!

Anyway will let you know what my big weekend plans are later on when I decide.

Movie Night

Hello All, This is my very first post and I am so excited, so here goes,

The girls wanted to go see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 this past weekend. So as always I went to read up on the movie to make sure it was ok to watch. What was so confusing to me was one website I went on said the movie was ok but had some things in it that may not be sutiable for some age kids. Then I go on another site and it talked about how good the movie was and it had some great issues on love, friendships and loyalty. I just wish everyone could have the same views on movies but then again people have different views and opinion's so why should movie critics be any different?. I guess that's what makes the world go round.?

So what to do???? After discussions with the girls we decided to go see the movie. If I didn't like it I explained that we would leave (we have done this before) if I didn't feel the movie was appropiate for us to watch. My sister, Jessica, Julie and myself were off to see the movie. I have to admit the movie was really good. I had my reservations but honestly it was really good. I was not offended by anything in the movie or was I uncomfortable with anything I saw or heard. I actually cried at some parts which is not so unusual for me I cry at sappy commercial's. Anyway, like I said before to each his own opinion but I was really glad we went to see this movie.

My review was a thumb's up!!!!! Not that it matters much but thought I would give it anyway.
