Disappointment

Well, we all have had them. Disappointing moments. But don't think I have ever had one as bad as I did this past Sunday. Not only were we stuck in the house because of the snow and no church....bummer....but I got the most disappointing news from my Sister this same Sunday.

She has been on the transplant list since May 2009 to get a Kidney and Pancreas. Well at 4:30 Sunday morning she got "the call" they had a match for her and how soon could she get to Duke Hospital. All the joy could be heard all over Greensboro as well as Reidsville. She was getting a new hope for a life without dialysis 3 days a week. Anyway as the conversation went on with the nurse from the hospital she has to ask the million and one questions....have you taken any drugs or had any alcohol in the past 48 hours...ummmmm NO!!! have you had the flu..ummmm NO!!! have you been on any antibiotics in the past 48 hours...ummmm...NO!!! have you had a cold in the past 48 hours...ummmm....YES!!!! to which she replied ummm....will have to call the doctor and see what he says. Her gland on the side of her neck was swollen and she went to the doctor he told her it was sinus and just told her to take over the counter meds...Sudefed or Claritan....but no antibiotics. The nurse called back and said that because of the swollen gland and the possibility of infection she could not have the transplant. Can you say DISAPPOINTMENT????? HEARTBREAKING????? DEVASTATED????? all the above was felt throughout the day!

Trying to cheer up someone who just go the most difficult news was almost impossible. Just had to try to get her to believe that this time was just not the right one for her and God has everything under control and he will send the right one when it's time! She believes this as well. Her faith has gotten her through so many difficult times she knows that it's all in God's hands and he will take care of everything.

Anyway, were still on the list and when another kidney and pancreas comes available, I just know the next time will be the right time for her. Just wanted to share this and ask that you keep my sister in your prayers that the right time will come very soon!!!

It's been almost a year since my last post.!

Confession time.....

Dear Blog....It's been almost a year since my last post and I am confessing all! I honestly forgot all about you when I got on facebook. Please forgive me!!!!

Now I am back and hope to do much better about posting and getting back in touch with my long lost blogger buddies.

Friday Fill-ins

2. Why do I have a really bad cold and I do not have any tissues.

4. Every morning, I put lotion on my legs.

5. I consider myself lucky because I have a job and so many people do not.

6. One day we’ll see Jesus in all his glory.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Bible Study with the teens, tomorrow my plans include cleaning then who knows what and Sunday, I want to go to church then home to rest and hopefully feeling better by then!

My Weekend....

I just wanted to share with you some things we did this past weekend. I usually don't have anything really interesting to post about my weekend but this time I do and I wanted to share...
First off we went to Julie's Volleyball Banquet at Taste of Japan...good food....when it came time to pass out awards..of course Ms. Julie didn't think she would get anything because this was her first year and the other girls are upper class men and of course they get all the awards. There were two "Very Special" awards given one being the "RAM" award...chosen by the coach and the "MVP" award chosen by the team...Well how shocked was Ms. Julie to learn she was voted "MVP' by the team...see pictures... sorry they are small...couldn't figure out how to make them larger...hope you can see them...



The coach had called me to tell me about Julie getting this award but I was sworn to secrecy and couldn't tell anybody..(except daddy, jessica, justin, nana, sissy)...everyone BUT Julie...and to see the look on her face when she called her name was priceless!

Then we went to Winter Jam 09 at G'boro Coliseum. Sponsored by K-LOVE the Christian Music station. It was GREAT!!! Some of the groups one especially..Family Force 5 was a little much for me...but the place was packed....They had to turn people away because they had reached the maximum capacity!!! How amazing is that..! Over 20,000 people there praising the Lord. It was awesome!!! see...pic as well!!



Julie made a comment on the way home that night that she was so amazed that so many people from all different age groups..young and old could get together for a concert and it be all about God...she said "Mama, I'm glad to know I'm not the only teenager who praises the Lord and loves to sing and listen to music about him! That was worth the $10 to get in and the $10 to park!

That's my weekend...Just wanted to share this with you and hope you will indulge me on bragging on my little girl!!! She makes me Proud!!!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going out to dinner, tomorrow my plans include cleaning then dinner at church and Sunday, I want to go to church and praise the Lord for everything he has done this week for me......and watch the Race!

Coming Soon....Valentines Day!

With Valentines Day fast approaching...I was thinking about something I could post about today and then I read Michell's post from yesterday I believe and it got me to thinking...(thanks Michelle).
We all want the flowers and candy or better yet jewelry for Valentines Day right? But what I want for Valentines Day has nothing to do with any of them...well maybe the jewelry thing..hehe.. anyways as I was reading this other persons blog I couldn't help but remember all the Valentines Day's my hubby and myself have shared. We have been together almost 25 years...that of which 22 1/2 years are married years...so I have gotten my share of flowers, candy and even jewelry..but you know the more I think about it the more I am just grateful I have a wonderful man who loves me and respects me. When you say you have found your soul mate...I truly have. He loves the Lord and we share in our faith and pray for each other everyday. He is a great father and provider for all of us. He has to be because I love to spend money. I am always wanting to buy something so we have to have one level headed person in our relationship...haha!
I was listening to a young man last night at church preaching and in a few short months he will be getting married and he was talking about how many days, weeks and even how many hours it was until his wedding and that really blessed my heart to hear him talk about his soon to be wife and how he couldn't wait to start there lives together. If you are luck enough to find this kind of love you need to hold on tight and never let go. Of course it's not going to always be candy, flowers, and jewelry, but as long as you have love, respect and most important God...in your marriage, you have EVERYTHING!!!
